Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You'll join a thriving small animal practice in the heart of Fulham, one of London's most vibrant neighborhoods. This full-time Senior RVN position offers genuine leadership opportunity: you'll mentor two Student Veterinary Nurses, support your sole-charge Veterinary Surgeon, and help maintain the practice's exceptional reputation with a deeply loyal client base. The role includes a manageable 1 in 4 Saturday rotation at the branch and 1 in 10 Saturdays at the sister hospital, with no on-call requirements.

The practice is well equipped with two consulting rooms, spacious prep and theatre area, in-house laboratory, and a dedicated colleague rest space. Recent facility investments mean you'll be working in continuously improved surroundings. You're just a 7-minute walk from Fulham Broadway station (District Line), offering easy transport across London.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the nursing team and oversee clinical standards of patient care and welfare
• Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations as required
• Maintain all diagnostic, surgical and medical equipment and instruments in full working order
• Carry out weekly audits of Controlled Drugs in line with prescribed protocol
• Supervise reception staff, ensuring high standards of client communication and service across in-person, email and telephone contact
• Manage daily reception operations and handle client and patient interactions professionally
• Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to Student Veterinary Nurses
• Utilise Schedule 3 skills as directed

Requirements

• RVN registration with RCVS
• Proven experience as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Natural confidence in decision-making and team support
• Genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior nursing staff
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues

• Salary: £35,000 to £39,000 FTE (depending on experience)
