About the Role

This is your chance to join a bright, spacious, purpose-built practice equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including digital X-ray and in-house laboratory equipment. You’ll be part of a friendly team delivering excellent client care while gaining practical experience across all aspects of veterinary support. This full-time position works 40 hours per week and includes weekend rota shifts, giving you real exposure to how a modern small animal practice operates.

You’ll be the welcoming face clients and their pets see when they arrive—calm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about helping both animals and the people who care for them. If you’re enthusiastic, keen to learn, and willing to get stuck in, this role offers the foundation for a rewarding veterinary career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinic cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards across all areas
  • Care for and monitor in-patients, including feeding and observation
  • Assist with routine clinical testing and sample handling
  • Manage stock control and ordering systems
  • Handle and restrain a variety of small animals safely and with confidence
  • Set up surgical areas and prepare instruments for procedures
  • Perform deep cleaning of clinical and reception areas
  • Communicate with clients over the phone and face-to-face regarding appointments and pet care
  • Support the wider team with client care and practice operations

Requirements

  • Good verbal communication skills—essential for engaging with clients
  • Basic computer literacy
  • A calm, friendly demeanor and genuine interest in animal welfare
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
  • Willingness to learn and take on varied tasks
  • Previous veterinary or animal care experience is advantageous but not essential
