About the Role

Join a modern, developing first opinion practice in Altrincham as a newly qualified or early-career Registered Veterinary Nurse. This is a role designed to support you as you build confidence and clinical skills in an environment where high standards and continuous improvement are genuinely valued. You'll work alongside experienced vets, RVNs, and support staff who actively enjoy teaching and developing nurses.

This position offers the rare gift of work-life balance in veterinary nursing: 40 hours per week with no out-of-hours duties, no Sunday working, and no overnight inpatient checks. Overtime is recognised and paid or taken as time off in lieu. You'll be part of a supportive, approachable nursing team with strong clinical leadership and a positive culture focused on development and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nurse consultations and triage, developing your clinical decision-making skills
• Assist with and manage anaesthesia and theatre nursing, including multiparameter monitoring (ECG, capnography, blood pressure)
• Provide inpatient care and recovery support
• Perform Schedule 3 procedures and dental radiography with full dental workflows
• Develop expertise in multimodal analgesia and local anaesthetic techniques
• Actively participate in patient management and clinical decision-making alongside the clinical team
• Engage with developing technologies including point-of-care ultrasound and AI-supported tools (HT Vista, AI-assisted clinical note-taking)
• Attend regular nurse meetings and clinical discussions

Requirements

• Newly qualified or early-career Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
• Motivated to learn and develop clinically
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Organised, positive, and willing to take ownership of your development
• Attitude and willingness to learn matter more than knowing everything already

This recently extended, modern practice in Altrincham offers excellent facilities including 5 consult rooms, 2 theatres, a dedicated recovery area, and a spacious staff room with study area. The practice benefits from visiting cardiology and imaging support and maintains a strong clinical team that includes a CertAVP holder, with a caseload spanning advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic cases.
