About the Role

This is a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position at Bedford Vets for Pets, where the team places real value on collaboration, continuity and supporting one another across the practice. You’ll be taking on all aspects of nursing in a close-knit environment that includes vets, RVNs, SVNs, a VCA and a reception team that supports the client journey.

The rota is set at 39 hours per week, with 1 in 4 Saturdays from 9am to 3.30pm. There are no OOH or Sunday shifts. The practice also runs regular meetings, team building activities during and outside working hours, and monthly in-team building events.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of nursing within a supportive small animal practice
• Work closely with the vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCA and reception team to support smooth day-to-day running
• Use nursing skills to help maintain the practice’s established local reputation
• Support client care through effective teamwork and communication
• Contribute to regular clinical discussions and team meetings
• Mentor less experienced staff and help encourage ongoing learning

About the Practice

Bedford Vets for Pets is a long-established small animal practice in Bedford, Bedfordshire, with a reputation built over 19 years. The team includes 5 vets, 5 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 VCA and 5 reception staff.

The practice uses laparoscopy equipment, carries out schedule 3 procedures, works up cases thoroughly in house and holds ISFM Silver Cat Friendly status alongside registration with the Practice Standards Scheme. The team also includes an RVN with ECC experience, a nurse with an ISFM certificate, and the practice owner Nicole, who holds GPCert(SAP) and GPCert(SAS).
