Looking for a practice that truly respects your weekends? Join a warm, supportive small animal team where you'll work just 1 in 6 weekends with zero OOH, and develop your nursing skills across theatre, clinics, and hospital care.
1 in 6 weekend rota; no out-of-hours or overnight on-call duties
This is a full-time permanent position working four days per week, plus a 1 in 6 weekend rota with no out-of-hours duties. You'll join a large, friendly nursing team at a recently refurbished practice in Charlton that has invested in modern facilities including dual operating theatres and laparoscopic equipment.
You'll rotate across theatre, clinics, hospital wards, and prep areas, gaining broad exposure to all aspects of nursing care. The practice actively encourages nurses to develop their skills, including training in Schedule 3 surgical procedures such as stitch removals and lump extractions. If you're a final-year student nurse or newly qualified, you'll be assigned a named mentor for clinical support.
Vets for Pets Charlton is a locally owned small animal practice with the backing of a larger organisation. The practice has recently completed a comprehensive refurbishment and extension, featuring a redesigned reception area, six consultation rooms, dedicated cat and dog wards, a dual operating theatre, back office facilities, and newly installed laparoscopic and endoscopy equipment. The team comprises a Head Nurse and Practice Owner, seven further RVNs, seven veterinary surgeons, one student veterinary nurse, four veterinary care assistants, and six receptionists. Several team members hold additional certificates in surgery, medicine, and (soon) ophthalmology. The practice cultivates an inclusive, supportive working environment where learning and professional development are actively encouraged across all levels.
