🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours duties, no weekends. Daytime hours only with flexible full-time or part-time options (20–40 hours per week).

About the Role

This is a flexible opportunity to join a thriving small animal practice in Sevenoaks where your clinical skills and compassion are genuinely valued. You’ll work 20–40 hours per week—no weekends, no out-of-hours duties—giving you the work-life balance that increasingly hard-to-find in veterinary nursing. The practice actively encourages RVNs to lead nurse clinics and develop their clinical expertise, whether you’re progressing toward registration or already qualified and ready for the next step.

You’ll be part of a compact, supportive team of 3 vets, 2 RVNs, 3 VCAs and 3 receptionists all pulling in the same direction. The environment is collaborative and development-focused—the practice is explicit about supporting career progression for SVNs moving toward RVN status, as well as experienced RVNs looking to step up into leadership or specialist roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical nursing care that reflects the high standards expected across the practice, working alongside the veterinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes
  • Lead and deliver nurse clinics, utilising your full scope of practice to provide preventative and health maintenance services
  • Support the smooth daily running of the practice, managing patient flow and maintaining efficient theatre and ward protocols
  • Contribute to a supportive, collaborative team culture and mentor junior staff or trainees as appropriate
  • Actively engage with the practice as a business, supporting colleagues in achieving personal and practice goals
  • Demonstrate excellent communication with clients, colleagues and patients, taking pride in consistently delivering high standards

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration with the RCVS (or SVN actively working toward qualification if applying as a trainee)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A warm, compassionate approach to patient and client care
  • Confidence and capability in the clinical aspects of the nursing role
  • Interest in understanding the practice as a business and supporting team development
  • Willingness to embrace all aspects of the veterinary nurse role and continue learning

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £34,000 FTE, depending on experience
  • Dedicated, generous CPD allowance to support your professional development
  • Paid professional memberships (BVNA, RCVS, VDS)
  • No out-of-hours or weekend duties
  • Free onsite parking
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Exclusive company discounts: up to 30% at Pets at Home, 20% at The Vet Group and The Groom Room
  • High Street, online and cashback rewards via the Reward Hub
