Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Advisor

About the Role

This is a full-time Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Advisor role at Gloucester Barnwood Vets for Pets, with an immediate start available. You’ll be the link between clients and the clinical team, helping to keep the practice running smoothly while delivering a welcoming and professional experience for pets and their owners.

The practice is a standalone site, located just five minutes from Gloucester town centre and offering onsite parking. You’ll be working alongside a supportive and experienced team that includes one Head Clinical Care Advisor, two Clinical Care Advisors, four full-time vets, a Practice Manager, three RVNs, one VCA and two Student Nurses.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients, offer support and guidance, and create a warm first impression at the practice.
• Act as the link between clients and the clinical team.
• Manage payments and future bookings confidently.
• Answer the phone, deal with queries, transfer calls and take messages where needed.
• Use the online booking system to help coordinate the smooth running of the practice.
• Handle card and cash payments and work in accordance with GDPR.
• Support the day-to-day routines of the practice with a calm, organised approach.

Requirements

• Previous veterinary practice experience or receptionist experience is required.
• Previous veterinary experience is desirable but not essential.
• You should be calm, organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• You’ll need energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love for pets.
• A can-do attitude is essential.
• Computer literacy is important, including confidence using booking systems.
• You should be able to balance compassion with efficiency.
