This is a part-time position working 28.5 hours per week across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, though the practice is open to discussing flexibility around your schedule. You will be joining an experienced team of 2 other vets in a stable, longstanding standalone practice based in the heart of Castleford. The practice has deliberately designed this role to offer no regular weekends or OOH shifts, only the occasional weekend cover during holidays and bank holidays worked on a rota basis with colleagues.

This is a stable, longstanding independent small animal practice in Castleford. The team comprises the practice owner Chris (who holds a certificate in Small Animal Surgery) and another experienced vet, Veronica, both passionate about expanding their knowledge and supporting colleague development. The nursing team includes 6 RVNs, many with specialist certificates in anaesthesia and analgesia, and one experienced nurse who is also an SQP. The practice prides itself on sharing ideas, discussing protocols and ensuring every voice is heard in clinical decision-making.
The practice is cat-friendly and has been awarded as an autism-friendly clinic. It maintains a loyal and friendly client base with a good percentage of insured pets, allowing the team to retain cases in-house where appropriate.
