About the Role

This full-time registered veterinary nurse position is based at Vets Now Northampton, a dedicated out-of-hours emergency clinic serving the local community since 2005. You'll work a structured 8-week rota pattern with night shifts and some weekend daytime work, providing emergency and critical care to patients without appointments. The clinic holds RCVS Small Animal Emergency Service Clinic accreditation, reflecting its commitment to high-quality ECC provision.

Your role sits at the heart of clinical treatment, managing complex cases from triage through recovery. You'll be part of a skilled nursing team handling everything from first aid and pain assessment to post-operative monitoring and diagnostic procedures. This is ideal for an RVN who thrives in a fast-paced, evidence-based emergency setting and wants to deepen their ECC expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage and first aid advice; perform in-clinic first aid assessment and care
• Manage critical care patients, including monitoring major body systems, identifying deterioration, assessing pain, and delivering physiotherapy and wound care
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity when required
• Support anaesthesia, surgery, and in-patient care within the nursing team
• Maintain high clinical standards and contribute to a professional, caring environment for clients and their pets

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards
• Passionate about delivering high-quality care to clients and their pets
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous
