Weekend Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This weekend Veterinary Nurse position is based at Crossroads Veterinary Centre in High Wycombe and offers up to £19.40ph DOE plus benefits. The rota runs on a four week pattern, with Week 1 and Week 2 covering Saturday 12:00 to 19:30 and Sunday 08:30 to 19:30, followed by Weeks 3 and 4 off, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

The role is aimed at nurses who want to build ECC knowledge while keeping a balanced weekend schedule. You'll be part of the nursing team at Vets Now, where the clinical focus includes triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient care.

This is a good fit if you enjoy emergency work and want development alongside experienced clinical teams, with support for professional qualifications including the ECC certificate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and deliver first aid in clinic.
• Support critical care, including monitoring major body systems and inpatient trends.
• Recognise changes in patient condition quickly and act accordingly.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is advantageous.
