Weekend Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This weekend Veterinary Surgeon role is based at Vets Now King's Lynn, working within Mill House Veterinary Surgery & Hospital, an RCVS accredited animal hospital. It is an ECC focused opportunity for vets who want to build more emergency and critical care experience while keeping work around their wider commitments.

The rota is 1:2 Saturday and Sunday day shifts, with Saturday shifts typically 12pm to 7pm and Sunday shifts typically 8am to 7pm. A fair share of bank holidays is also included, and the number of shifts worked can be discussed further.

The host practice is equipped with bronchoscopes, digital x-rays, an on-site lab for quick blood tests, ultrasound, video endoscopes and modern intensive care monitoring, along with comprehensive dental services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide weekend emergency and critical care cover at Vets Now King's Lynn.
• Work Saturday and Sunday day shifts on a 1:2 rota.
• Take part in the fair share of bank holidays included in the rota.
• Work within the facilities and support available at Mill House Veterinary Surgery & Hospital.
• Contribute to ECC casework alongside a team focused on developing emergency skills.

Requirements

• You should be a Veterinary Surgeon.
• Interest in ECC and emergency work is important.
• Suitable for vets wanting more ECC experience or those working a second job.
• Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays as part of the rota.
