Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in a busy 24-hour practice. You’ll be at the heart of the clinical team, delivering direct patient care to the highest standard whilst supporting the smooth running of this well-established practice. The role includes a 1 in 4 weekend rota plus some out-of-hours shifts, though the practice is genuinely flexible about shift patterns and keen to work around your lifestyle needs.

Based in Romford, Essex, the practice offers an enviable location with free on-site parking, excellent transport links into central London (just 25 minutes), and easy access to the Essex countryside. You’ll be working alongside 13 vets, 17 RVNs, 7 SVNs and 12 Receptionist across two branches, in a purpose-built facility with state-of-the-art equipment including two dedicated operating theatres, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, digital radiographs, full endoscopy suite, and CT access.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical nursing care to patients, including pre- and post-operative support, anaesthetic assistance, and wound management
• Contribute to the running of the practice, ensuring high standards of patient and client care are maintained
• Support the wider nursing team in a collaborative environment, helping to motivate colleagues towards personal and practice goals
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, taking pride in your clinical work and practice standards
• Take an active interest in the business side of veterinary practice and professional development
• Work flexibly across both practice branches as required

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to delivering excellent patient and client care
• Ability to embrace all aspects of the RVN role with professionalism and enthusiasm
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends and some out-of-hours cover
