Veterinary Care Assistant Receptionist

About the Role

This is a 6 month fixed term Veterinary Care Assistant and Receptionist opportunity at Bishop Auckland Vets for Pets, with the potential to develop into a permanent contract depending on business needs. The role is primarily based on the reception desk, and you will also support the nursing team during annual leave and holiday cover.

The practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and purpose built to industry leading standards, with digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities. You will help keep the practice running smoothly while supporting a welcoming, calm experience for clients and their pets.

Key Responsibilities

• Cover the reception desk on a rota basis and act as the friendly first point of contact for clients and their pets.
• Support colleagues with non-clinical duties to help the practice run smoothly.
• Assist the nursing team during periods of annual leave and holiday cover.
• Stay up to speed with the practice services and any additional services offered so you can guide clients confidently.
• Support patient care while helping create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.

Requirements

• You must be a qualified VCA.
• Previous experience in a VCA role is highly desirable.
• You should have a genuine interest in developing your experience within the role.
• You need to be calm, attentive and focused on clients' needs.
• You should bring enthusiasm, drive and a passion for service and pets.
