1-in-8 weekends (Saturday and Sunday). No routine nights or on-call. Dedicated night team covers 24/7 in-house emergency care. Occasional night shifts available as optional opportunity for those interested in emergency work.
Wallace Vets is seeking a dedicated RVN who’s passionate about hands-on patient care and wants to make a real clinical impact. Whether you’re experienced, newly qualified, or waiting to sit your OSCEs, this role welcomes nurses at all stages of their career. You’ll work across three friendly locations—Broughty Ferry, Carnoustie, and Arbroath—rotating between sites to bring variety to your weeks. With a standard 4-day week (36 hours) and just 1-in-8 weekends, you’ll enjoy a genuine work-life balance. There’s no routine on-call or nights required; a dedicated night team covers 24/7 emergency care, though occasional night shifts are available if you’re keen to develop emergency skills.
This independent practice has grown from a single site to three thriving branches over 20 years, maintaining a warm, family-run culture with nearly 60 team members. Recently awarded BVA Great Workplace – Silver Accreditation, Wallace Vets is recognised as a place where teamwork thrives, flexibility is a priority, and every voice is genuinely valued.
Wallace Vets is an independent small animal practice serving Dundee and Angus since 2004, with three branches across Broughty Ferry, Carnoustie, and Arbroath. Open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, the practice provides friendly, high-quality veterinary services with pet welfare at its heart. Recently recognised with BVA Great Workplace – Silver Accreditation, Wallace Vets has earned a reputation as a place where teamwork thrives, people are supported with genuine work-life balance, and mutual respect underpins everything.
The practice employs nearly 60 team members who all work across the three sites, creating a genuinely united group rather than isolated branches. With a single owner-director who still works clinically, decisions happen quickly and ideas are truly heard. The team is social and community-minded—organising everything from goat yoga and cocktail nights to team dog walks, wild swimming groups, and fitness challenges, plus annual summer and Christmas team events. The practice actively supports local charities, sports groups, and community initiatives.
