Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Walton Lodge Vets is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly, established practice in Ware, Hertfordshire. This full-time permanent role offers a varied and hands-on nursing position within a primary care environment that prioritises team collaboration and high-quality patient care.

The practice is based on a 40-hour week, working Monday to Friday with shifts on a rota basis (either 5-day or 4-day weeks). You'll also cover a 1-in-7 Saturday morning rota from 9am to 2pm. This is a daytime-only role with no overnight or emergency on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Rotate across different clinical areas including theatre and surgical support, inpatient care, nurse consultations, and diagnostic procedures
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to first opinion patients as an integral member of the clinical team
• Support excellent client experiences through clear communication and positive relationships
• Contribute to clinical standards and the ongoing development of patient care within the practice
• Assist with reception support as part of your varied duties
• Work collaboratively with three veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills with effective workload management
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
