Join an established equine practice with a brand new clinic, excellent facilities, and a collaborative team that values professional development. Up to £75,000 plus relocation support.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive first opinion equine veterinary care across a varied and rewarding caseload, from pony club ponies through to competition horses and the occasional donkey. Based in the heart of the Chiltern Hills just outside Wendover, Buckinghamshire, the role combines roadside first opinion work with access to a fully equipped clinic facility.
You'll work collaboratively with a supportive clinical team, continuing to develop your interests (particularly in orthopaedics, diagnostic imaging, or lameness if you're working towards or hold relevant certificates) while contributing to the clinical culture of the practice. The location offers excellent transport links to London and international airports, local amenities, outstanding schools, and nearby Wendover Woods for breaks.
Wendover Park Equine Vets is a dedicated equine-only practice established in 2024, built on a partnership between two long-established practices: Wendover Heights Equine at Halton (founded 1965) and Park Vets in Watford (over 120 years of history). The practice serves horses, ponies, and donkeys across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and surrounding areas.
The team includes seven equine vets led by Clinical Director Ben Wakeling and Senior Vet Charlotte Osmond, three registered veterinary nurses, and support staff. The onsite clinic facility includes a treatment room, five stables, equine theatre with induction and recovery room, paddocks, trot up area, hard lunge, and lunge menage. Regular visits from travelling surgeons complement the in-house expertise. The practice is part of inspiring vet care, the UK and Europe's leading veterinary care group comprising over 900 practices and referral hospitals.
