About the Role

Wilton House Veterinary Clinic is seeking a compassionate and organised Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly, dedicated team. This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour working week (four- or five-day option, Monday to Friday), with Saturday mornings worked on a manageable one-in-four rota from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Importantly, there is no out-of-hours requirement—this is daytime-only work that respects your personal time.

Located in the charming market town of Guisborough on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, you’ll enjoy beautiful countryside, nearby beaches, and easy access to vibrant cities such as Newcastle and Durham. The clinic itself is well equipped with a modern operating theatre, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and fully equipped in-house laboratory. You’ll be joining a passionate and supportive team of Veterinary Nurses and Animal Care Assistants who work collaboratively to deliver the highest standards of care, with close collaboration with neighbouring practices and guidance from Gillian Wormald, Clinical Director at Stokesley Vets.

Your role will be varied and rewarding, encompassing high-quality inpatient care for medical and surgical cases, the management and monitoring of anaesthesia, delivery of engaging nurse consultations, laboratory procedures, and day-to-day clinical support to ensure the practice runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional standards of patient care while supporting clients with clear, empathetic communication, particularly in sensitive situations
  • Provide high-quality inpatient care for medical and surgical cases
  • Manage and monitor anaesthesia during procedures
  • Deliver engaging and informative nurse consultations to clients
  • Conduct essential laboratory procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to ensure smooth and efficient practice operations

Requirements

  • RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification
  • Proven track record of excellent patient care
  • Positive, proactive approach to teamwork
  • Compassion, professionalism, and collaborative mindset
  • Passion for ongoing learning and development
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues and clients
