About the Role

Woodland Veterinary Centre is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly nursing team across three sites—Midhurst, Haslemere, and Liphook—with the main base at Midhurst. This is a part-time position working 32 hours per week with early and late shifts (8:00am start, 7:30pm finish). The role offers excellent work-life balance: no overnight out-of-hours duties, with only Saturday mornings on a relaxed 1:8 rota from 8am to 2pm.

The practice is nestled in the picturesque South Downs, a stone’s throw from the coast and within an hour of both Heathrow and Gatwick, offering the best of both worlds for lifestyle and connectivity. Your day will rotate through four key areas—theatre, kennels, prep, and consultation—keeping your work varied and clinically stimulating. The team is led by an experienced Head Nurse who fosters a culture of learning and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing support across theatre, kennels, prep, and consultation areas
  • Rotate through clinical duties to maintain variety and broad clinical exposure
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team of vets, nurses, veterinary care assistants, and reception staff
  • Contribute to high standards of patient care and welfare, including recently refurbished separate dog and cat wards
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with certificate-holding colleagues
  • Support the practice’s partnership with the local Cats Protection Adoption Centre

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Small animal nursing experience
  • Commitment to continued professional development and learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment

Woodland Veterinary Centre has served the Midhurst, Liphook, and Haslemere communities for over 25 years, providing compassionate veterinary care for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia The team comprises highly trained and skilled vets and nurses dedicated to quality care and responsible pet ownership.

The centre is well-equipped with modern facilities including DA digital X-ray, dental X-ray, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, in-house biochemistry and haematology machines, ultrasound with cardiac and abdominal probes, laser therapy, ECG, endoscope, and tonometer. Recently refurbished kennels feature separate dog and cat wards for improved patient welfare. The practice culture emphasises learning, development, and team wellbeing, with certificate-holding staff regularly sharing knowledge and several colleagues passionate about specialist interests.
