About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover equal family leave within the surgery team at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists, commencing around 3rd July 2026. You’ll be joining three ECVS diplomates within a surgery team that’s part of a 40-strong referral clinician workforce, working across the small animal surgery referral service specialising in soft tissue and orthopaedic cases. The role includes contributing to the week night and weekend out-of-hours service alongside your daytime surgical work.

Located in serene Hampshire countryside just south of Winchester and close to the M3, the practice offers state-of-the-art facilities and operates 24/7 to care for referral patients. This is an opportunity to work with nationally and internationally recognised specialists in a well-established, comprehensive clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery within the referral service
  • Contribute to the out-of-hours rota (weeknight and weekend cover)
  • Work collaboratively with three ECVS surgical diplomates and the broader referral team
  • Participate in clinical training and development programmes
  • Support the hospital’s commitment to highest-quality surgical and medical care

Requirements

  • European Board Certification (ECVS) or American Board Certification (ACVS) in surgery, or completion of an ECVS/ACVS accredited residency
  • Full registration with the RCVS
  • Willingness to participate in out-of-hours duties as part of the rota
  • Experience and enthusiasm for soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery
