About the Role

Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists is seeking a skilled Veterinary Anaesthetist to join its established anaesthesia team in Hampshire. You’ll work three days per week with a manageable 1:4 weekend rota and one night per week on-call—with flexible scheduling available to suit your needs. This is a rare opportunity to develop expertise in anaesthesia and pain management within a multidisciplinary referral environment where your knowledge will directly shape patient outcomes.

Based just south of Winchester in serene countryside, the practice combines state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical facilities with a collaborative, learning-focused culture. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team of three ECVAA diplomates and two ECVAA residents, working across medical and surgical caseloads with a specific interest in chronic pain management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anaesthesia and analgesia for medical and surgical patients across the referral caseload
  • Develop and deliver pain management protocols, with particular focus on chronic pain conditions
  • Collaborate with the ECVAA diplomates and residents to maintain clinical standards and mentoring
  • Contribute to the practice’s comprehensive CPD and training programmes
  • Support the 24/7 emergency service on a shared on-call basis

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the UK with current MRCVS registration
  • Board certification or eligibility in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (e.g., ACVAA, ECVAA, or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a specialist team environment

Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists has been a leading small animal referral hospital since 2006, now part of the Linnaeus group and Mars Veterinary Health. The practice specialises across Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Cardiology, Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology and Physiotherapy. Many clinicians are nationally or internationally recognised specialists.

The Hampshire location features comprehensive diagnostic equipment including an on-site MRI (Phillips 1.5T), 64-slice CT (Siemens Somatom Perspective), two ultrasound machines (GE S8 and S7), fluoroscopy (Philips Zenition 50), and digital radiography systems.
