About the Role

You’ll be joining Aniwell’s Poole branch as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in a friendly, supportive environment where the role can be shaped around your strengths and interests. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday with a mixture of early and late shifts, plus a 1 in 4 Saturday rota (8:30 am–12:30 pm). The practice is also open to part-time and flexible working arrangements if that suits you better.

You’ll be primarily based at the Alderney branch in Poole, with occasional cover at the Kinson location if needed. The practice is conveniently situated near town centres, beautiful beaches, and the New Forest, with excellent transport links—ideal if you value a good lifestyle balance alongside your career.

Note: Aniwell is also considering applications from second-year student veterinary nurses for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across a range of small animal cases in a first-opinion practice setting
  • Work as part of a well-staffed nursing team (including an RVN pursuing an anaesthesia certificate and another nurse holding an ECC certificate)
  • Support clinical operations including anaesthesia, surgical nursing, and patient care
  • Utilise the practice’s comprehensive facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, therapeutic laser, dental radiography, and endoscopy suite
  • Contribute to the practice’s Gold Cat Friendly Clinic standards and protocols
  • Engage in continuous professional development and learning opportunities

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification (or second-year student nurse status)
  • Passion for delivering exceptional patient care
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a collaborative team

About the Practice

Aniwell was established in August 1995 and has grown to operate two fully equipped branches in Kinson and Poole (Alderney). The practice is part of IVC Evidensia, part of Mars Veterinary Health. Both branches work in harmony together, united by a commitment to consistent, high-quality patient care delivered by an experienced and passionate team.

The practice is a first-opinion small animal clinic with comprehensive facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory machines, therapeutic laser, dental radiography, and a full endoscopy suite (including rigid and flexible scopes).
