About the Role

Biscot Mill Vet Centre is a thriving small animal practice in Luton with a reputation for high standards of care and a progressive approach to veterinary nursing. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm, with Saturday mornings on a 1:3 rota. The practice is well equipped with a laboratory suite, sterile theatre, radiography, dental x-ray, and three consulting rooms, serving the local community and surrounding areas including transport links to London and Bedford.

You'll be an integral member of the clinical team, working collaboratively with the Practice Director, three veterinary surgeons, and support staff to deliver high-quality nursing care. The practice prides itself on respecting nursing expertise and actively encourages nurses to complete Schedule 3 procedures, pursue special interests, and engage in continuing professional development. As a Training Practice, there are opportunities to support student nurse training and develop your career through mentoring and clinical supervisor routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Running nursing consultations and managing first opinion cases
• Delivering high-quality inpatient care and monitoring anaesthesia
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging support
• Contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice
• Working closely with veterinary surgeons and support staff to ensure the best possible care for all patients
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Team-oriented mindset with confidence and motivation to deliver high standards of care
