About the Role

You’ll be the first friendly face clients and their pets encounter at Ardene House Vets—a role that’s genuinely central to the practice’s success. This part-time position offers a manageable 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with alternating Saturday mornings, giving you real work-life balance. You’ll thrive in a small, close-knit team that actively looks after one another, creating a supportive atmosphere where your contributions are valued and seen.

Based at Kingswells Hospital in Aberdeen, you’ll work across a multi-disciplinary practice that handles everything from routine vaccinations to life-threatening surgery, with RCVS accreditation and hospital-standard facilities. Your excellent communication skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks will be key assets in this busy but rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting clients and their pets, ensuring a warm and welcoming first impression
  • Managing appointment bookings and diary coordination for the team
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries with professionalism and care
  • Processing payments for services and products
  • Managing cash handling and end-of-day banking procedures
  • Liaising between clients and clinical staff to maintain high standards of customer care

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Warm, compassionate demeanour and genuine pet-lover qualities
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment
  • Experience in a customer-facing role (preferred)
  • Reliability and professionalism in handling cash and banking

About the Practice

Ardene House Vets, Kingswells Hospital is Aberdeen’s only hospital-standard veterinary practice as regulated by the RCVS. All departments hold full RCVS accreditation and are regularly inspected to maintain the highest standards. The practice provides comprehensive pet healthcare across multiple disciplines, from emergency and surgical services to routine preventative care, treating dogs, cats, small pets, farm animals, exotic pets, and equine patients.
