1:10 rota, seven nights on call with no daytime work. Dedicated night nurse in practice to triage and support patients. Continuity of care model—you see your own clients during on-call periods.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and confident small animal veterinarian who thrives in a friendly, well-supported environment. You’ll be joining Bay Vets in Lancaster (or Morecambe, depending on your preference), where you’ll enjoy a genuine mix of consultations and routine surgery without the chaos of excessive caseload pressure. With 36 hours per week and the same day off each week, this role prioritises your wellbeing while keeping you clinically engaged.
Working alongside 4.5 FTE vets at Lancaster or 3 FTE vets at Morecambe, you’ll have plenty of experienced colleagues and certificate holders to collaborate with and learn from. Out-of-hours duties are shared on a manageable 1:10 rota—seven nights on call with no daytime shifts, plus a dedicated night nurse in practice to handle patient triage and support. The practice also values continuity of care, meaning you’ll see your own clients during OOH periods.
Bay Vets is part of Linnaeus, a leading veterinary group owned by Mars Veterinary Health. The practice operates four RCVS-accredited small animal sites, including a main 24-hour facility. The team includes several certificate holders specialising in surgery, imaging, and medicine, creating a clinically rich environment with genuine development opportunities.
Linnaeus is committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace where all associates are empowered to speak up and step up. With over 6,000 associates across the group, you’ll have access to a huge network of specialists, worldwide development opportunities, and a comprehensive wellbeing package prioritising both physical and mental health.
