About the Role

You’ll join Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging team as a specialist nursing professional, delivering expert care across a full range of advanced imaging modalities. This fixed-term contract covers maternity leave and offers flexibility—whether you’re looking for full-time hours (40/week) or part-time arrangements (from 23 hours/week), daytime shifts between 08:00–19:00 fit around your life on a manageable rota basis.

Blaise is a large-scale, multidisciplinary specialist referral hospital with recognized specialists across Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery, and Anaesthesia. As part of IVC Evidensia’s referral network of over 100 sites across the UK and Ireland, you’ll be part of a welcoming, knowledgeable team committed to supporting your development every step of the way. The 24-hour hospital also homes Vets Now at Blaise emergency service, creating a vibrant, learning-focused environment.

This is hands-on, rewarding work. You’ll collaborate closely with imagers, clinicians, and nursing colleagues to manage complex cases and contribute specialist expertise that directly improves patient outcomes and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist with imaging services across multiple modalities: CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, radiography, and ultrasound
  • Prepare patients safely for imaging procedures and maintain advanced monitoring equipment and patient warming devices throughout procedures
  • Assist clinicians and imagers with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including contrast administration and interventional services
  • Contribute to equipment maintenance and uphold hospital policies on safety and quality assurance
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement in imaging standards

Requirements

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Significant experience in clinical practice with nursing skills relevant to diagnostic imaging
  • Experience working with CT and/or MRI in a referral or advanced-care setting (advantageous)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
