This is a structured 12-month rotating internship starting for 28th September 2026, designed to build your confidence and clinical skills in a leading small animal referral environment. You’ll work across five core rotations—Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Anaesthesia, and Emergency Care—plus the option to explore additional specialisms based on your interests.
Based at Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital near Birmingham, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team treating up to 10,000 patients annually across one of the largest purpose-built veterinary hospitals in the UK. This is hands-on learning alongside experienced mentors, with active participation in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical governance activities.
Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 36,000 sq ft multi-disciplinary facility operating as one of the UK’s largest veterinary hospitals. Located conveniently near the A38 in Longbridge (Birmingham), it provides specialist-led referral services and 24/7 emergency care. The hospital is part of the West Longbridge regeneration project, combining clinical excellence with a modern working environment.
