3 nights on, 6 nights off. Night shifts: 6pm–8.30am (33.83 hours per week average). Position is specifically for E-Vet emergency clinic providing 24/7 emergency care.

About the Role

You’ll join Braid Vets’ dedicated emergency clinic (E-Vet) as a night-shift RVN, providing 24/7 emergency care to ten local practices across Edinburgh. This is where the varied and exciting caseload lives – from medical emergencies to surgical cases – all supported by an experienced, knowledgeable team who actively encourage you to work to your full potential.

Based in Edinburgh’s city centre, you’re minutes from vibrant urban amenities yet perfectly positioned for quick escapes to the Scottish countryside and beaches. The shift pattern is genuinely manageable: 3 nights on, 6 nights off, working 6pm–8.30am (averaging 33.83 hours per week). Braid Vets is one of Scotland’s designated Veterinary Nurse Training Practices, so this is a practice genuinely invested in developing talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care across a varied emergency caseload – medical, surgical, and critical care cases
  • Support the emergency team during night shifts (6pm–8.30am) across the E-Vet clinic
  • Work within a collaborative RVN team of experienced, knowledgeable nurses
  • Contribute to the high standards of care Braid Vets is known for, particularly in surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and behavioural cases

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • ECC certificate desirable but not essential
  • Comfortable with night-shift working and varied emergency cases
