Specialist or Board Eligible Surgeon

About the Role

You’ll join Cave Veterinary Specialists as a specialist consultant surgeon, bringing your expertise in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery to a busy referral hospital serving the Southwest. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract covering family leave within the surgical team. The role combines clinical case management with service development, working alongside experienced veterinary surgeons and RVNs in a friendly, collaborative environment.

You’ll contribute to an emergency out-of-hours rota on a 1:4 share basis, balancing your clinical work with manageable on-call commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist clinical services in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery cases
• Work collaboratively with the surgical team to develop and enhance services
• Foster strong interdepartmental relationships and support referral cases
• Uphold professional standards that advance patient outcomes
• Share emergency out-of-hours duties on a 1:4 rota with colleagues

Requirements

• European (ECVS) or American (ACVS) board certification in surgery, or completion of an ECVS/ACVS accredited residency
• Proven expertise in soft tissue and/or orthopaedic surgical cases
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to high clinical standards and patient care
