Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a part-time position offering 32 hours per week across three days, with Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 rota and no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities. You'll join a well-established small animal practice in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, perfectly positioned between vibrant city amenities and beautiful countryside living.

You'll work collaboratively with a clinical team of 10 veterinary surgeons, handling a varied first opinion caseload of consultations, medical work-ups and surgical procedures. The practice values ongoing development and creates an environment where you can build confidence and explore clinical interests with the support of experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied small animal caseload
• Perform routine medical and surgical procedures, supported by well-equipped facilities including laparoscopic and orthopaedic surgery equipment, ultrasound with cardiac probe, endoscopes and therapeutic laser
• Collaborate with the clinical team of certificate holders in medicine, feline medicine and surgery
• Continue developing your clinical skills while sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues
• Contribute positively to the clinical culture and support the development of team members

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and current RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Proactive approach to learning, openness to feedback and commitment to development
• Professionalism, reliability and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
