Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This part-time veterinary surgeon position offers flexible hours within a first opinion small animal practice. You'll work alongside a passionate team of vets, nurses, patient care assistants and receptionists in a collaborative environment that prioritises both animal care and colleague support. Based at Ark Veterinary Group in Burgess Hill, you'll benefit from a loyal client base with high membership in the practice's Healthy Pet Club.

You'll have clinical autonomy to lead surgical and medical cases, carry out diagnostic investigations, and contribute to shaping clinical standards across the practice. There's a strong emphasis on mentoring colleagues and sharing best practice within a culture where improvement is encouraged and clinicians are empowered to make their own decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage surgical and medical cases with clinical confidence and precision
• Carry out diagnostic investigations to a high standard
• Support and mentor nursing and support staff to help them develop and thrive
• Deliver exceptional client care that builds trust and long-lasting relationships
• Contribute to clinical standards and best practice across the practice
• Continue developing clinical expertise across different case types

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with RCVS registration
• Strong clinical autonomy and experience managing a varied caseload
• Confident in surgical and medical case management
• Excellent communication skills and natural mentor to colleagues
• Commitment to providing outstanding animal care and positive client experiences
