Twilight Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time twilight position working a 7 on, 7 off rotating rota with shift times of either 2pm to 11pm or 3pm to midnight. You'll be joining MiNightVet Plymouth, a first opinion small animal practice that's part of the CVS Group, where clinical excellence and colleague wellbeing are genuinely prioritised.

The practice runs as a passionate, collaborative environment with a sizeable team of veterinary surgeons, RVNs, PCAs and receptionists. You'll be working alongside colleagues with Advanced Practitioner qualifications in small animal surgery and dentistry, certificate holders in medicine, and vets progressing through certificates in emergency and critical care and imaging. The practice is RCVS Approved for the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme and actively supports SVN training.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on surgical and medical cases within the small animal caseload, carrying out diagnostic investigations with precision
• Manage a varied caseload during twilight hours, demonstrating clinical autonomy in decision-making
• Mentor and support nursing and support staff, contributing to case discussions and clinical standards
• Deliver client-focused care that builds trust and long-lasting relationships with pet owners
• Engage in open case discussion and idea sharing within the collaborative team environment
• Develop clinical skills further through the practice's learning and training culture

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with strong clinical autonomy and experience managing varied small animal cases
• Confident in surgical and medical diagnostics with ability to handle complex presentations independently
• Natural mentor and team player committed to supporting colleagues
• Passion for delivering outstanding animal care and positive client experiences
