This is a daytime position within PetMedics Worsley Hospital's experienced Hospital and ECC team, working across four days per week with a 1:4 weekend rota. You'll split your time between inpatient case management and emergency consultations, working within a multidisciplinary referral centre equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities including an onsite CT scanner.
The role offers the chance to develop expertise in emergency and critical care alongside experienced colleagues, many of whom hold relevant certificates. You'll contribute to clinical standards while mentoring team members and supporting a diverse patient caseload with access to sophisticated imaging, surgical, and intensive care capabilities.
PetMedics is a multi-site veterinary group based in Worsley, Manchester, comprising a 24-hour hospital, a first-opinion practice, and a dedicated consulting branch. The hospital team includes 37 veterinary surgeons, many holding advanced certificates, supported by certificate-holding RVNs and patient care assistants. The facility is equipped with four operating theatres, six consulting rooms, dedicated intensive care, permanent CT scanner, digital X-ray, three ultrasound machines, endoscopy and laparoscopy capabilities, mechanical ventilation, and a fully operational in-house laboratory with video microscopy. The practice holds Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status plus Silver awards for rabbit and dog friendliness. The clinical team includes certificate holders in emergency and critical care, surgery, medicine, imaging, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology, and clinical pathology, with nursing staff holding advanced diplomas in ECC, anaesthesia, surgery, medicine, and nutrition.
