Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Night Registered Veterinary Nurse role is based at PetMedics Worsley Hospital in Manchester, where you will be part of a 24-hour Small Animal Veterinary Hospital and Advanced Clinical Services centre. The position offers 34 hours a week and includes night shifts from 7pm to 6.30am on a 6 shifts on, 8 off pattern, plus 7pm to 6.30am on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday every other weekend.

There is also a Sunday and Monday rota running from 4pm to 3.30am. You will be joining a friendly, welcoming and supportive team in a spacious practice that offers both general practice and referral nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide night nursing care as part of a 24-hour small animal hospital team.
• Support patients across both general practice and referral nursing cases.
• Monitor patient health and support recovery during night shifts.
• Work with colleagues across the hospital team, including veterinary surgeons, nurses, PCAs, receptionists, administrative staff and an ambulance team.
• Contribute to a positive, friendly and supportive team environment.

Requirements

• You must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• You should be dedicated and committed to delivering exceptional care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.
• You should be comfortable working as part of a team in a busy hospital setting.

About the Practice

PetMedics Worsley Hospital is described as a large veterinary hospital with a clinical team of 37 veterinary surgeons and 41 nurses, supported by PCAs, receptionists, administrative staff and an ambulance team. The hospital has a large waiting room with a separate cat waiting room area and has been awarded Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status and Silver Rabbit Friendly status.

Its facilities include 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, an intensive care ward, separate cat and dog wards, an exotics ward, an isolation ward, digital X-ray, a CT scanner, several ultrasound scanners, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation and an extensive in-house laboratory.
