Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

You'll work across two well-equipped sites in St Clears and Kilgetty, delivering a varied mix of consulting and surgical work in a first-opinion small animal practice. This part-time role offers 3.5 days per week (approximately 31 hours), including one Saturday morning in four with time off in lieu, allowing you to maintain a genuine work-life balance. Out-of-hours cover is provided by MiNight at Carmarthen Veterinary Hospital, so you won't be juggling emergency shifts on top of your daytime commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding surgical and medical care across a varied small animal caseload
• Conduct diagnostic investigations with precision using dental X-ray, static X-ray, ultrasound, doppler, endoscopy, and ophthalmic equipment
• Manage and lead different case types as you build confidence in clinical skills
• Support and mentor nursing and reception colleagues to help them thrive
• Create positive, reassuring experiences for clients that build trust and long-lasting relationships
• Contribute to shaping clinical standards within the practice

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a veterinary surgeon
• Confident clinical skills with the ability to handle a varied caseload independently
• Experience in both surgical and medical case management
• Commitment to delivering outstanding animal care and supporting patients and their owners
• Natural mentor and team player who enjoys inspiring colleagues
• Strong client care skills and ability to build trust with owners

Market Hall Veterinary Centre is a small animal practice part of CVS Veterinary Group.
