Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a varied small animal Veterinary Surgeon role covering consultations, surgical procedures and inpatient care. The standard week is 40 hours, typically across three long days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with weekend duties on a 1 in 4 rota. Part-time applicants are welcome to apply.

You will be working in a supportive environment where clinicians are encouraged to make clinical decisions, improve practice and share knowledge. The role offers the chance to build confidence, deepen expertise and, for experienced vets, bring clinical autonomy to a varied caseload.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out consultations, surgical procedures and inpatient care for small animal patients.
• Take the lead on surgical and medical cases where appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic investigations with accuracy.
• Support and guide colleagues as part of a collaborative clinical team.
• Contribute to inpatient care from admission through to treatment and discharge.

Requirements

• Experience as a Veterinary Surgeon is required.
• You should be confident in your clinical skills.
• You should be comfortable handling a varied caseload.
• Ability to support and inspire colleagues is valued.
• Strong client care is important in this role.

About the Practice

Solihull Veterinary Hospital, previously YourVets Solihull, was established in 2007 and is part of the YourVets group. The practice is based in Olton, Solihull, West Midlands, at Lincoln Road North, and offers on site parking and disabled access.

The team includes vets, RVNs, PCAs, receptionists and a dedicated out-of-hours team. The hospital has a CT scanner and hospital facilities, supporting inpatient care from admission through to treatment and discharge.
