About the Role

This is a permanent Veterinary Surgeon role at Pool House Vet in Lichfield, with work across all four sites: the Lichfield hospital, Armitage, Burntwood and Mere Green supporting branches. The caseload is described as well-balanced and varied, with a split between surgery and medicine.

You’ll be joining a compassionate and experienced team within an environment that is described as supportive. The role suits a confident and motivated vet who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to keep developing their clinical skills and interests.

Requirements

• A veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills.
• The ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care.

About the Practice

Pool House Veterinary Hospital has served the local community for over 150 years. The Lichfield hospital is a modern, purpose-built premises, and the practice also has branches in Burntwood and Armitage.

The small animal team includes three small animal partners, Stuart Holland, Alex England and Ian Thomas, supported by seven assistant veterinary surgeons. The practice also has visiting specialists in Cardiology and Dermatology, plus an Animal Behaviourist, and one vet is qualified to practice Acupuncture. It is an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital and an approved centre for veterinary nurse training.
