Ready to specialise in internal medicine at a cutting-edge hospital with world-class diagnostics? Wanstead's medical team is seeking an experienced vet who's hungry to build a permanent career in internal med, with genuine support, advanced cases, and a 4-day week.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

1:3 Saturday rota, 1:6 Sunday rota, plus last-resort on-call approximately once every 2 weeks. Up to 2 bank holidays per year included in rota.

About the Role

You’ll be joining Wanstead Veterinary Hospital, the flagship 25-vet practice within Goddard Vet Group, as an Internal Medicine Veterinary Surgeon. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a genuine specialisation pathway in internal medicine—ideal if you’ve already completed (or are completing) your certificate and want to work with complex diagnostic cases every day.

The hospital receives a constant stream of endoscopy and ultrasound cases, plus referral work from 20+ satellite practices across the group. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art diagnostics including an on-site CT scanner, commercial laboratory, and a strong surgical team handling advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue work. With a 4-day week (average 40 hours) and a manageable 1:3 Saturday and 1:6 Sunday rota, plus last-resort on-call approximately once every two weeks, there’s genuine room to breathe alongside the clinical work.

Wanstead sits on the edge of urban Essex with excellent transport links—a short walk to the Central Line will get you into London, or you can enjoy the nearby Bluebell Woods and independent cafés and restaurants. It’s green, connected, and genuinely liveable.
