About the Role

Join a busy, evolving first opinion practice in Ewell, Surrey, with a beautifully designed clinic featuring an open-plan prep area, walk-in kennels, and spacious reception. This part-time position offers up to 32 hours per week with a genuine work-life balance: you'll rotate Saturday cover with the branch (1 in 4) and one Sunday per month at the Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon, with no overnight on-call requirements. Before your first Sunday shift, you'll spend an induction day at the hospital so you're fully prepared.

The practice is supported by Stone Lion's 24-hour emergency facility in Wimbledon, allowing you to refer complex cases while their dedicated night team provides OOH care to your patients. Ewell itself is ideally located with multiple local train stations and easy access to desirable London areas like Richmond and Wimbledon. Parking is available, which is rare this close to London, and Gatwick Airport is just 30 minutes away.

You'll work alongside a growing team including a new senior vet, experienced RVNs, and trainee nurses who will support your development. The practice values progression: leadership training is available if you wish to explore senior roles within the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support in a busy first opinion practice environment
• Assist with surgical and medical procedures under veterinary supervision
• Contribute to patient care and welfare during hospitalisation and recovery
• Support the reception and clinical team to maintain high standards of patient and client care
• Undertake Saturday branch rotas (1 in 4) and Sunday cover at Stone Lion Hospital (1 in 10)
• Work collaboratively with a supportive senior vet and experienced nursing team

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Proven experience working in a veterinary practice environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work a rota including Saturday branch cover and Sunday hospital shifts

• Salary: £26,000 to £28,800 per annum (pro-rata for 32 hours per week; full-time equivalent £32,000 to £36,000)
