Part Time
Dedicated OOH
Ready to join an established emergency team with genuine flexibility? This Trowbridge OOH role offers nights that work around your life—Friday/Saturday or negotiable patterns—with a fully equipped practice and a supportive nursing team by your side.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

Night shifts, ideally Friday and Saturday nights. Alternative rota patterns can be discussed at interview.

About the Role

You’ll be joining a dedicated out-of-hours emergency and critical care team at a well-established Trowbridge practice that’s been delivering high-quality 24/7 care since 2018. This role focuses on night shifts—ideally Friday and Saturday nights—though the practice is open to discussing alternative rota patterns that suit you. You’ll work alongside experienced registered veterinary nurses and advanced practitioners in emergency and critical care, handling a diverse caseload in a supportive, team-driven environment where your development matters as much as the cases you treat.

The practice is fully equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, EPOC, in-house laboratory facilities, and blood products, giving you access to the tools needed for gold-standard emergency care. Evening support is available to help manage caseload demands, and the team actively supports career progression alongside your night commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload during night shifts
  • Work collaboratively with a team of experienced registered veterinary nurses and advanced practitioners in ECC
  • Develop surgical and medical expertise in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere
  • Deliver high-standard emergency care to local practices and direct clients across Wiltshire
  • Contribute to a team environment where professional development is actively encouraged

Requirements

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Confidence working in an out-of-hours emergency setting
  • Ability to work nights—Friday and Saturday preferred, but alternative patterns can be negotiated
  • Experience in emergency and critical care is desirable but not essential

Benefits

  • Salary: £60,000–£80,000 FTE (depending on experience)
  • CPD and professional certificate funding to support career development
  • Flexible rota—work the nights that suit your lifestyle
  • Supportive work environment with skilled nursing team and additional evening support
  • Fully equipped practice with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities
  • Career progression support aligned with your goals
