Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time receptionist role offers the ideal entry point into veterinary practice, combining customer-facing excellence with the warmth of a collaborative team. You'll work set days: Thursday and Friday 8am to 6pm, plus one Saturday in four from 8am to 4pm, giving you predictable scheduling and real work-life balance. Hunt's Veterinary Clinic has been caring for small animals across its three Stockport branches (Poynton, Woodley, and Cheadle Hulme) since converting from mixed practice in 1997, and operates to high RCVS-accredited standards across all sites.

As the first point of contact for clients and patients, you'll be central to the practice experience. Your warmth and professionalism will set the tone for every interaction, whether greeting clients at reception, managing the appointment book, or fielding enquiries with care and attention.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and patients with a friendly, professional manner that reflects the practice values
• Manage appointment bookings and schedule efficiently to support smooth clinic operations
• Handle client enquiries and direct them appropriately, providing helpful information about services and care options
• Support clinical and non-clinical colleagues by sharing information and coordinating care pathways
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy practice environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail
• Contribute to a positive client and patient journey at every touchpoint

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, spoken and written
• Experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on service and professionalism
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks
• A friendly, collaborative approach to working within a team
• Proactive mindset with openness to feedback and learning opportunities
• Ability to work the specified hours: Thursday and Friday 8am to 6pm, plus one Saturday in four 8am to 4pm
