About the Role

This part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position is based across Lake View Veterinary Centre's Thrapston and Rushden branches, working 30.88 hours per week with a fixed schedule: Wednesday and Thursday evenings in Thrapston, Friday evening in Rushden, plus one Saturday morning per month. Best of all, there are no out-of-hours requirements, giving you genuine work-life balance in a caring small animal environment.

You'll deliver high-quality nursing across first opinion cases, supporting surgical procedures, running nurse consultations, and contributing to preventative care. The practice is well-equipped with colour ultrasound, digital x-ray, full in-house Idexx laboratory, and gold standard anaesthesia equipment including Humphrey ADE circuits, multiparameter monitors, patient warming, and oxygen generators.

Lake View Veterinary Group is a friendly and experienced 100% small animal practice spanning three surgeries across Northamptonshire. You'll be joining a supportive team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 nurses, and dedicated support colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across varied first opinion cases
• Support surgical procedures including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
• Run nurse consultations and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education
• Support client care and communication throughout patient journeys
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and practice team members
• Take responsibility for nursing care and contribute to maintaining clinical standards

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
