About the Role

You'll undertake a structured 1-year Emergency and Critical Care Discipline-Specific Internship, designed to build your clinical skills in managing critically ill patients and prepare you for future critical care residency training. This is a full-time position based at Willows Referral Service in Solihull, a leading multi-disciplinary referral hospital with an extensively equipped Intensive Care Unit and 24-hour in-patient care.

The role includes weekend working on a 1:3 rota supporting the primary care out-of-hours team, with compensatory days off provided for weekend shifts worked.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive intensive training in clinical skills essential for managing critically ill veterinary patients
• Undertake directed learning in relevant critical care procedures and techniques
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Dermatology, Imaging, Anaesthesia, Dentistry and Emergency and Critical Care specialists
• Participate in weekend out-of-hours support on a 1:3 rota with compensatory time off
• Contribute to the 24-hour in-patient care programme

Requirements

• Minimum two years postgraduate experience in practice (essential)
• Completion of a one-year rotating internship or equivalent (preferred)
• Highly motivated with excellent communication skills
• Very good command of spoken and written English
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
