Ready to lead a modern, forward-thinking small animal practice and help shape the future of a brand-new state-of-the-art hospital? This is your chance to build something exceptional with a supportive team that values clinical excellence and work-life balance.
No on-call requirement. Shared 1 in 5 weekend day rota (Saturday and Sunday day shifts, not night shifts).
Kings Veterinary Centre is preparing to relocate into a purpose-built hospital opening April 2026, equipped with cutting-edge facilities including CT scanning. This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership position and help shape the practice from the ground up. You'll work a four-day week (8am-6pm or 8.30am-6.30pm) with protected administration time, plus a shared 1 in 5 weekend day rota. There is no on-call requirement. You'll be leading a stable, experienced clinical team through an exciting period of growth and development.
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you'll oversee day-to-day clinical caseload and business operations, delivering exceptional small animal care rooted in best-practice medicine. The role combines clinical work with meaningful leadership responsibilities: supporting the transition to the new hospital, mentoring colleagues including graduate vets, and contributing to strategic practice growth as part of the senior leadership team. You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values mentorship, communication, and continuous learning, supported by a skilled nursing team and robust administrative structure (HR, finance, and health and safety).
You'll enjoy a varied caseload spanning routine procedures to complex cases, supporting your own ongoing clinical development. This is leadership with purpose, where your decisions directly elevate patient care and inspire your team.
