Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Southfields Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its large, multidisciplinary clinical team. You'll work a flexible schedule between 7am and 8:30pm, including 2 in 8 weekends with time off in lieu, as part of a collaborative environment where nursing expertise is highly valued and actively utilised.

Your role will span a diverse caseload across the hospital's specialist services. You'll contribute to patient care and medical and surgical interventions in internal medicine, neurology, diagnostic imaging, inpatient care, oncology, surgery, and anaesthesia. This is a genuinely varied position that encourages you to develop specialist interests within a supportive referral setting, with full training and support provided. Experience in anaesthesia would be advantageous but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care across multiple specialist services and emergency cases
• Support medical and surgical interventions under the direction of consultants, residents, and supervising vets
• Contribute to inpatient care, diagnostics, oncology, theatre work, and anaesthesia support as required across the multidisciplinary team
• Work collaboratively with consultants, residents, interns, and Patient Care Assistants to manage a large and varied referral and emergency caseload
• Actively participate in a solution-focused, positive team culture and contribute to developing working processes
• Pursue learning opportunities and share knowledge to support colleague progression

Requirements

• Right to Work in the UK
• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification with minimum 2 years' professional experience
• Passion for patient care and genuine enthusiasm for learning and development
• Strong communicator with a solution-focused mindset
• Ability to maintain professional and caring approach in all circumstances
• Willingness to actively contribute to a positive team culture and support colleague progression
• Previous referral experience is beneficial but not essential (full training provided)
