Veterinary Care Assistant

About the Role

Martin Veterinary Centre is seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant to join its clinical support team in Kirkintilloch. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) position offering an excellent opportunity to develop skills in a recently refurbished practice with modern facilities and a collaborative team environment.

Situated on the scenic banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal with beautiful walking routes nearby, the practice is conveniently located within walking distance of Kirkintilloch town centre, with excellent transport links to Glasgow. Free on-site parking is available for all staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to the nursing team with in-patient care and monitoring
• Assist theatre nurses with surgical procedures and theatre preparation
• Prepare surgical packs and sterilise instruments to the highest standards
• Support laboratory duties and diagnostic work
• Maintain infection control protocols across all clinical areas
• Help ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely
• Contribute to high standards of patient and client care delivery

About the Practice

Martin Veterinary Centre is a modern, small animal practice located in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. The recently refurbished facility features state-of-the-art equipment including five consulting rooms, two theatres, a dedicated prep and recovery area, isolation facilities, digital x-ray, dental suite with dental x-ray, and an on-site laboratory. The practice treats dogs, cats, and small pets.
