About the Role

You’ll be joining Mead Vet Centre, a progressive 24-hour independent hospital in Dartford, Kent, as an experienced Veterinary Surgeon. This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours over 4 days per week with a manageable 1:4 weekend rota (with time back in lieu the following week). The practice genuinely invests in its team—you’ll benefit from quarterly reviews to discuss equipment, caseload, and career progression, plus an impressive range of high-value CPD and certificate support.

You’ll work alongside vets holding certificates in Surgery, Exotics, Medicine, Endodontics, and Imaging, creating a collaborative environment where knowledge-sharing is the norm. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine consultations and provide hands-on clinical care across a varied caseload
• Perform surgical procedures with support from the established surgical team
• Contribute to case continuity and clinical decision-making
• Collaborate with certified specialists in the practice across multiple disciplines
• Participate in the 1:4 weekend rota on a rotating basis
• Engage with CPD and professional development opportunities offered by the practice

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
• Experience in small animal practice preferred
• Relevant certificates (Surgery, Medicine, etc.) desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and teamworking skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
