Receptionist

About the Role

As a Client Care Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for everyone walking through the door or calling the practice. This is a full-time position based in Clapham, where you’ll deliver exceptional care to clients, patients, and colleagues, juggling phone calls, appointments, and the day-to-day rhythm of a busy practice.

You’ll work with a collaborative team that values you as much as you value them. This is front-of-house work at its best—no clinical duties, just the satisfaction of keeping the practice running smoothly and making clients feel genuinely welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients on arrival, manage check-ins, and maintain accurate client records
• Answer phone calls, manage messages, and handle client enquiries promptly
• Triage emergency appointments by contacting clients and rearranging the diary as needed
• Manage the practice diary to optimise appointment availability across the team’s skillset
• Process repeat prescription requests from clients
• Ensure online appointment slots remain available and up to date
• Support the team with administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Excellent reception and client-facing skills with a natural ability to communicate
• Good numeracy skills and experience with online appointment booking systems
• Strong ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure
• Flexibility, willingness to learn, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
• Previous veterinary receptionist experience is desirable but not essential
