About the Role

This is your chance to become the welcoming hub of a thriving small animal practice in Crawley. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients and their beloved pets, creating positive first impressions that set the tone for their entire visit. Working full-time or part-time, you’ll coordinate the day-to-day operations while building genuine relationships with both clients and the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients warmly and offer guidance on practice services, helping them navigate available options with confidence
  • Manage client payments and future appointment bookings using the practice’s online booking system
  • Coordinate the smooth running of daily practice routines, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, their pets, and the wider practice team
  • Provide emotional support during difficult moments (e.g., end-of-life consultations) and celebrate happy occasions (e.g., new puppy first visits)
  • Act as the critical link between clients and the clinical team, ensuring clear communication
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy in every interaction, creating a welcoming atmosphere for colleagues and clients alike

Requirements

  • Minimum one year’s experience working in a veterinary reception or similar client-facing role
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence using online booking systems
  • Friendly, welcoming demeanour with a genuine passion for people and animals
  • Ability to remain calm, attentive, and focused under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, positive personality
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and make a genuine difference to clients and their pets
  • Enthusiasm and drive to excel in a fast-paced environment
