Medivet Cowbridge
Apply before: May 1, 2026
1 in 4 Saturday mornings 9am–1pm. No night shifts or emergency out-of-hours duties.
You’ll be joining Medivet Cowbridge, a well-established small animal practice nestled in the heart of Cowbridge—a picturesque market town on Cardiff’s doorstep. This is a genuine mixed consulting and surgical role where you’ll get to do the full breadth of small animal medicine, from routine appointments to more complex procedures. The practice punches above its weight clinically, with two operating theatres, digital imaging, dental x-ray, and surgical laser on site.
Working as part of a tight-knit team of three vets, you’ll have colleagues around you and the clinical backup that makes a real difference to your day. The 40-hour week includes 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm only)—no nights, no emergency shifts. It’s the kind of schedule that lets you actually plan a weekend.
Cowbridge itself is a gem: independent shops, proper cafés, and a genuine sense of community. Cardiff’s vibrant city centre is 20 minutes away, the Glamorgan coast is on your doorstep, and the countryside is everywhere. It’s work-life balance you can actually live.
Medivet Cowbridge is a busy small animal practice located in a beautiful market town setting. The team comprises three veterinary surgeons, multiple RVNs and student veterinary nurses, and reception staff—a genuine community rather than a factory. The clinic is well-equipped with two operating theatres, digital imaging facilities, dental x-ray, and surgical laser, enabling confident delivery of modern clinical care.
The practice is part of Medivet, a leading UK and European veterinary care provider with over 400 practices, including 24-hour centres and specialist referral hospitals. Medivet’s scale brings real benefits—access to internal CPD, peer networks, and career development pathways—whilst maintaining the local feel and autonomy that makes Cowbridge special.
