About the Role

As a Client Care Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients visiting or calling the practice. This is a full-time position where exceptional customer service is at the heart of everything you do. You’ll work in a supportive team environment where your contributions are genuinely valued, handling a mix of face-to-face greetings, phone calls, appointment management, and client communication that keeps the practice running smoothly.

Based at the Hendon practice in North London, you’ll be part of the Medivet network—one of the UK’s largest veterinary groups—which means access to excellent support, training, and career development opportunities from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients on arrival, maintain a welcoming reception environment, and update client records accurately
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally and manage client messages promptly
  • Triage emergency appointment requests, contacting clients to assess urgency and rearranging appointments as needed
  • Manage the practice diary to maximise appointment availability and match clients to the right team members
  • Ensure online appointment booking slots remain available and optimised for client access
  • Process repeat prescription requests and handle associated administrative tasks
  • Collaborate within a supportive reception and clinical team to deliver consistent care

Requirements

  • Excellent reception and client-facing skills with a genuine passion for exceptional customer care
  • Good numeracy and attention to detail
  • Experience using online appointment booking systems
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Flexibility, willingness to learn, and a collaborative team approach
  • Previous veterinary receptionist experience is desirable (but not essential)
